Spellcraft to Help You Stand in Your Magical Truth

Magic is a dance between light and dark, between what we consciously manifest and what whispers from the depths of our soul. As witches, we know that true power lies in integration—the weaving together of all aspects of ourselves, both seen and unseen. This is where shadow work becomes an essential tool, allowing us to unlock hidden strength, refine our craft, and stand fully in our magical truth.

It is useful to first create a safe, clear, and loving space of sanctity prior to doing shadow work. This spell will center your energy, create intentions, and invoke wisdom as you walk into the inner worlds of yourself.

You Will Need:

A black candle (for transformation and protection)

A white candle (to offer light and illumination)

A small mirror (to symbolise self-reflection)

A piece of smoky quartz or obsidian (to ground and incorporate shadow)

Incense (mugwort, sandalwood, or myrrh are all suitable options)

The Spell:

1. Sit in a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. Light the incense, allowing the smoke to cleanse your space. Place the mirror in front of you, with the black and white candles on either side. Hold the crystal in your hands, allowing its weight to ground you.

2. Light the black candle first, saying: “I honour the shadows, the wisdom they keep, the parts of myself buried deep. With courage, I walk this hidden space, embracing truth with love and grace.”

Next, light the white candle, repeating: “I call upon clarity, I call upon light, to guide me through this sacred night. Lit, I turn to see, the lessons my shadow teaches me.”

3. Stand in front of the mirror, and take a deep breath. Gaze at your reflection and recite: “I am complete, I am powerful, I accept all of me where it is to be. No part left behind, no truth hidden, with love, I walk this path within.”

4. Hold the crystal against your heart and take three slow breaths. Let its energy anchor you. When prepared, say: “With open heart and steady mind, I come in here, wisdom to pursue. My shadows warn me, I hear the truth, in strength, in love, I tread this out.”

5. When you are ready, blow out the candles (do not blow them out, so the energy remains undisturbed). Take the crystal with you as you enter into your shadow work, and let it anchor and sustain you.

You are now ready to enter your inner world with courage, love, and clarity.

May your journey be profound and redemptive.
