WitchCRAFTing with Vision Boards.

With the new moon in Aquarius right around the corner, we thought we’d talk about the real power behind making a vision board and how it can really help you turn your dreams into a reality. Having a visual representation of your dreams is helpful in many ways, especially for manifestation magic. Not to mention they can be really fun to make.

When I used to think of vision boards, I would picture it as a tool for an interior decorator or an event planner. Swatches and colours and vibes they’re looking to emulate. But as I’ve grown older, I see the very real magic behind this practice. The way it can transport you to a reality that hasn’t yet happened, the way they keep you on track and provide you with inspiration – incorporating this into manifestation magic feels like a no-brainer when you look at it like that.

Vision boards can really help with:

Clarity Creating a vision board requires you to clarify and define your goals. As you select images and words to represent your desires, you are forced to articulate and visualise exactly what you want to achieve.

Focus By placing your vision board in a visible location, you are reminded daily of your goals. This constant visual reinforcement helps you stay focused on your objectives, preventing distractions and keeping your attention on what matters.

Visualisation Looking at your vision board, you are prompted to create a positive image in your mind. This positive visualisation fuels your ability to trust in the process, and believe that what is meant for you is on its way because you are doing the work.

Inspiration A vision board serves as a source of motivation and inspiration. When you face challenges or setbacks, looking at your vision board can reignite your passion and determination. It acts as a constant reminder of why you started pursuing your goals in the first place.

Alignment The images and words on your vision board communicate directly with your subconscious mind. This alignment can influence your beliefs and attitudes, making it easier to adopt behaviours that align with your goals.

With the new moon in Aquarius just around the corner, there’s no better time to make your own vision board. This energy is supportive of creative and visionary endeavours, making it a great time for envisioning your goals through creativity. The moon rising in an air sign is always a time of heightened mental powers, too.

So, how do you make one?

It’s easy! I’ll lay out the basic steps to make a physical one below, but – as always – let your intuition be your guiding light.

Step One: Clarify Your Goals

Before you start, get clear on what you want your vision board to be for. Is it for your career, a project, your ideal home, your ideal life? Identify exactly what it is you want to manifest.

Witch tip: If you laid out any specific goals during the new moon in Cap last month, this would be a great starting point!

Step Two: Gather Supplies

How do you want to create your board? There are apps and platforms that you can create virtual ones with, or maybe you prefer a physical board you can place on your workdesk or altar – have a think about the best way to create yours.

If you’re doing a physical one, you’ll need a poster board, cork board, or canvas. Something to act as the base for all of your images and cut outs. Grab some scissors, glue or sticky tape, textas and pens, and source images that align perfectly with what you envision.

Step Three: Set The Vibes

Okay, you don’t have to, but where’s the fun in being a witch if you don’t really lean into it? Light some incense, put on some music, get comfortable and make a moment of it! You’re not just making a collage, you’re doing some foundational work here.

Step Four: Get Crafting

Print or cut out your images, and stick them onto the base. You could incorporate colour magic as well. It’s good to be open to both literal representations and symbolic images, even words that align with the reality you’re manifesting.

Step Five: Display Your Board

You want to put it somewhere that you can see it regularly, that way it can do what it was created for and remind you what you’re working towards. Take time to reflect on it as often as it feels right, and update it when you feel the call to (it’s normal for our goals and plans to evolve).

As I said, creating your own vision board is fun! And it really does pack a punch when it comes to manifestation magic. You can also anoint it with some orange essential oil which, along with smelling amazing, will infuse it further with success and abundance.
