Why Witchcraft is the single most valuable business toolset there is
Witchcraft is all about eliciting altered states of consciousness- through trance, ritual, ceremony and spell work. And science has shown us that these same altered states of consciousness are what we call “flow states” or more simply put: creativity.
A client recently paid me to spend a week with her team and while we spent that week selling, the thing she was most interested in was the ways in which Witchcraft could give them an unfair advantage.
Lest you think this is a fringe concept: companies like Google, Apple, Nike, the Navy SEALS and many more have been using altered state work for years. Hell, the CIA released a report about how remote viewing works and was part of their internal systems for like 30 years (remote viewing is a skill I teach and is killer for sales and negotiations).
I think most people who’ve been hyper successful reach a point where they realise that the very fact that they’ve been able to direct their will to create an outcome (which is precisely how we talk about Magic), proves the existence of something larger.
“… but Leela you can’t possibly believe in magic?” – sure I do. And so do you – it’s all a matter of definitions.
Magic isn’t waving a wand, yelling Latin and making things appear out of nowhere.
Magic is the human capacity for creation – for seeing (or hearing) something in that grey matter between your ears and turning it into something that exists in the real world.
A painting, a song – a business. A product.
All ancient societies had the concept of an external creative motivator – the “genius”, the “daemon”, the “muse”.
In his book “the Artists Journey” Steven Pressfield talks about how he unironically “prays to the goddess” every morning before he starts working.
Magic is kind of like AA for people with unrelenting standards (aka entrepreneurs). It asks you to surrender to a power greater than yourself (the excellent thing about Witchcraft is that it doesn’t dictate what this power is: god, goddess, sentient universe, higher self – I know witches who are atheists and whose higher power is chaos theory).
It demands you place your ambition, ego and striving second to a larger power and plan – what the ancient Egyptians called “ka”. This is simultaneously terrifying and liberating – the idea that if everything is within your control: if you can create your own world with the power of your thoughts and actions – then: nothing is in your control.
So, yes – I believe in Magic. I believe that human imagination and creativity is one of the most potent forces in the Universe. And I also believe that inspiration is divinely gifted – that the powers of creativity are the birthright of all humans.
Witchcraft is all about tapping into the altered states that allow you to access that creativity at the highest possible level – a direct channel to the divine (who I personally perceive as a woman, a goddess – first and foremost I consider myself a High Priestess of Isis).
Magic is the very real force that shapes the world around you.
The only question is whether you’re living in your own magic or someone else’s.
