Candle Spell for Success
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, and with the new moon in Capricorn coming up, we’d like to share one of our favourite candle spells with you. This spell will help you manifest success in whatever area or goal you choose: simply create and infuse the candle, and light it whenever you work on your goal.

What you’ll need:
- A gold taper candle
- Elderflower
- A small bowl of incense ash
- Essential oil of your choice
- A toothpick or pin
- Some chosen symbols, words, or sigils that align with your intention
What to do:
In front of your altar or someplace quiet, lay your items out in front of you. With your toothpick or pin, begin to carve your chosen symbols, words, or sigils into the candle. For example if you want to do this spell for success with a particular work project, you could create a bindrune or write the name of the project on the side of the candle.
Set the candle down and grab your bowl of incense ash and place a few drops of your chosen essential oil in there and mix it until it forms a runny paste. You can add more oil if you need to. When it’s ready, dip your finger into the mixture and rub it all over the candle and into the carvings.
Before the paste dries, sprinkle the dried elderflower over it so it can stick to the candle. Alternatively, you could scatter the flowers on a clean, flat surface and roll the candle in it – just do whatever you feel comfortable with.
Stand the candle upright and allow it to dry (this won’t take long). It’s now time to infuse it energetically. Take some time to centre your own energy and ground yourself, allowing you to borrow from the earth’s abundant source of power.
Placing your hands on either side of the candle, begin to infuse the candle with your intention. In your mind’s eye, conjure the image of your success in your chosen area/project. Really take in the moment, letting yourself explore this reality. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Who is affected by your success? Bring all of this back to the present, and direct it into the candle.
When you feel like you are done, detach from the earth and allow your own energy to flood back into your body.
Your candle is charged and ready to go. Keep it on your workspace or altar, and light it when you are actively working on your goal/project. Each time you blow it out, visualise the smoke carrying your call for success out into the universe and trust that the universe will transform your desire for the highest good.
